Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
Pretty good. I made the crust which came from another pot pie recipe from this site (doesn't affect this rating). I did add some thyme and garlic powder for extra flavor. I wish I'd added another can of soup mix because it turned out a little dry. It did have a nice flavor though. After making a couple changes I'd make this again.

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I added artichoke hearts but otherwise made it by the recipe. We used fresh lemon and I think that's really critical to the flavor. It could use some color but I think I would get that with a side of steamed brocolli. It was kind of gooey but who doesn't love a gooey pasta fix?

Chicken Scarpariello

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
My husband is a fabulous, intuitive cook. I can cook because I can read. I made this all on my own and he commented on it for days. The presentation with a great salad and good wine ( lots of the second) made for a nice, romantic dinner ! Highly recommended for unsure cooks!

Party Cranberry Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
The Family was requesting this again this Thanksgiving - it's so good and just a little different. I did a sour cream/cream cheese topping with pecan bits and apple garni on the top. It was actually more like a desert but a big hit. And so pretty !

Slow Cooked Pork Barbeque

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I did this with boneless pork spareribs. about 1 and a half pounds. But i first slightly browned them on my stove, just enough to turn the pick a little grayish, and it took me a bottle and a half of bbq sauce, i used honey hickory. let them cook on low for 7 hours, they were so GOOD! simple, delicious, i will do this more often.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
The texture was light. I like that the flavor isn't too sweet. I added 1/4 tsp. of clove and 1/2 tsp. of allspice. I also followed the suggestion to heat the spices and pumpkin on the stovetop so that the flavors could meld. I used a deep dish crust, and the filling fit perfectly.

Cream Cheese Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
These were very tasty cookies, my boyfriend ate the whole batch!! I added extra sugar (we like things sweet) and I put Hersheys Mini Kisses on top on some, Reeses Chips on top of others, and also all different kinds of sprinkles (I think sugar crystals were best). They were very tasty.

Cowboy Caviar

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
This is my new favorite thing to bring to parties!! Everyone loves it and it's gone within minutes!! I modify the recipe a little - I use 1 can white corn, .5 cup frozen yellow corn, pickled jalepenos (approx. 1/4 cup), approx 1 whole diced sweet onion, 1/4 cup cilantro chopped finely, 1/4 cup green onions chopped finely, 2-3 tomatoes, 1 cup black eyed peas, .5 to .75 cup shredded cheddar cheese and almost entire reg. bottle Kens Italian Dressing. This is such a great recipe because of all the flavors, it's like nothing you've tasted before!! Definitely a party hit!!
