Excellent recipe! My children and I made 3 batches in 3 days! They had so much fun making them that they invited friends over to make them.
We consistently made one change, per previous reviewers suggestions we adjusted the amount of flour to 4 cups. It was the perfect amount. I would adjust the sugar amount depending on what you want to do with them. If you want a sweet pretzel, keep it as is, if you want it more savory cut the amount in half. I have added cinnamon and raisins to the dough and it was delicious. I imagine the possibilities are endless.
Incidentally, don't skip the baking soda step. It is what gives the exterior a nice chewy texture.
