Fast and Easy Tofu Lo-Mein

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Three stars for taste, four for ease of preparation. I just wasn't that impressed... it's esentially frozen vegetables over ramen noodles. But I wasn't expecting to be wowed. Good for a "what can I make with virtually nothing?" type recipe.

Chinese Spicy Hot And Sour Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
AWESOME SOUP! I made it as directed, except I used canned straw and oyster mushrooms. I also added a hefty teaspoon of Sriracha because I didn't see any ingredients in the recipe that would make this "spicy". I'm so glad I did. The end result was absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for this recipe!

Pork Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
Not good at all. I am dumbfounded by the great reviews of this. It was so bland and unappetizing! The sauce just tasted of flour paste. I didn't change a single thing about this recipe and I wish that I had... more spices, less flour... something! At least it was just a waste of leftover pork and cheap spaghetti noodles. Thanks anyway.

Spicy Honey Mustard Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
This was very nice pork. I reduced the amount of black pepper per others reviews, as well as added a bit of water to the bottom of the pan. I liked the strong flavor of the dijon mustard and the subtle sweetness of the honey. We used the leftovers the next day on Cuban Medionoche Sandwiches from this site which were great!

Egg in a Boat

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
This was a fun way to prepare eggs and toast. Careful of using too much butter, though... mine didn't "toast" up enough, so I had a hard time flipping the bread and egg together.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
Awesome! I didn't change a single thing about this recipe and everyone at Thanksgiving said it was delicious. I would definitely reccommend putting a cookie sheet under the pie to catch the oozing sauce or else you will have a messy oven. I was skeptical about putting the sauce on the top of the pie, but it soaked through the holes in the lattice crust, and made the top crust crunchy, perfectly browned and delicious. The lattice crust does take some time to perfect, however!

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
Awesome pie! I made it with a graham cracker crust, but I probably would've prefered a regular pastry crust. I found that 40 minutes was the perfect amount of time. Thanks for this simple recipe!

Glazed Dijon Carrots

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
These carrots are really good! Not too sweet with just the right amount of tang from the mustard. I like these better than candied carrots or honey glazed carrots. I made these to accompany the leg of lamb that my bf made last night and it was a great match. Thanks!

Simple Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
3 and a half stars, if I could. When I tasted the beef mix, it was really bland and unappetizing. I added a beef boullion cube, a half a packet of dry onion soup mix, and about a cup of water, then let the majority of the water simmer out. This definitely helped with the blandness. My boyfriend isn't a huge sour cream fan, so I just served this with a dollop on individual bowls. In a pinch, a quick, easy recipe that uses ingredients most have already on hand.

Richard and Suzanne's Famous Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
This was delicious! But with the stewed tomato and diced tomato, the sauce was chunky, which I quite like. I also added chunks of zucchini.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
I made this for my boyfriend and his friends to take to the Redskins game and my boyfriend said that everyone liked it. He only came home with about an eighth of it, so that's a good sign. I usually make a lasagna with lots of different veggies, but we decided that, for a crowd, a simple meat lasagna would be better. I do prefer the veggie filled lasagna better.
