I am a military wife and stay at home mother of four. I was a police officer for several years and ate on the run. Then I got married and became a Marine Corps. spouse. Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed on Nov. 29, 2008 by zanner81
This was my first time hosting Thanksgiving dinner as well as my first time ever cooking a turkey. I choose this recipe based on member reviews and simplicity. I baked an 18lb turkey and it turned out great! I (being a beginner cook) followed the directions word for word and the turkey was moist, well flavored and my guests loved it! I did have to bake my turkey a bit longer then what the recipe stated but that was due to it being 6lbs larger then what the recipe called for. I would highly recommend this recipe (especially to beginner cooks like myself). Excellent recipe, thanks!

Cream of Fresh Asparagus Soup II

Reviewed on Nov. 19, 2008 by HOOTIEBOY
Doubled the recipe. Didn't add any milk or sour cream (I had bought soy milk and vegan "sour cream" to add but decided against it because it had the perfect consistency). Added a bit more fresh lemon juice than the recipe called for. It was absolutely delicious!

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed on Nov. 12, 2008 by Sunnie2700
This was good considering how simple it was. I did as other reviewers suggested, I added a layer of green beans on the bottom of the dish. Turned out great. It is not real often where you can have a one course meal. :)
