Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
even though I have to leave out the mustard part of the recipe, this dressing is now our "house dressing". I haven't bought salad dressing in months now. This is our favorite "greek" dressing, and we are a greek family. Everyone has agreed, for once, that this is good stuff.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
I've used a few pork chop recipes on here and this is my second favorite ("Baked Pork Chops I" being the fave). This really is a great recipe and the preparation is quick too. I followed the advice of others and baked mine in the oven at 350 degrees for an hour after browning them in the skillet. The only things I added were garlic to the onion/mushroom saute mix and milk to the cream of mushroom gravy. The chops turn out tender as a mug and the gravy is excellent for mashed potatoes!! Will definitely make again, Bruh.

Creole Cornbread Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I made this for the first time Thanksgiving 2008, and it won't be the last. Yes, it's a lot of ingredients, and a bit of prep work, but well worth it. My family loved it, and raved so much. I followed the recipe exactly, except I added a little celery and paprika. The spices were perfect, even the cayenne and jalapeno, although I burned my hands chopping those darn peppers. (Never had that happen before!) My dish was not going in the bird, so I put it in the oven for about 25 minutes, instead of letting it cool in a bowl. I'm surprised noone has mentioned how pretty the stuffing is! Very colorful!

Unbelievable Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
WOW. Thi recipe is the BEST dinner roll recipe ever! I actually did mine in my new Kitchen Aid Mixer. I just warmed the liquids minus the eggs and butter and added it to the mixing bown and added the yeast to that, mixing with the dough hook. Then i mixed the eggs and the melted butter and added that to the liquid mixture. I gradully added the flour until the dough was no longer sticky. Yum yum yum!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
This recipe was really tasty and hit the spot for what I was looking for. In an attempt to make it *slightly* healthier, I used 3 C of all purpose flour mixed w/ 2 C whole wheat flour. The mix was a little sticky, but baked up beautifully and were a hit w/ everyone!

Spooky Witches Fingers

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
These were a big hit for my daughters 16th birthday/Halloween party. Our favorite joke was to bring them to neighbors and tell them we were bringing over "finger food" (cheezy but they loved it). It's not sweet, more like biscotti which is a nice change from all of the Halloween candy. They were great the next morning with morning coffee.

Southern Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
I used andouille sausage instead of bacon. There is no reason for vegetable oil, just use enough bacon fat, or sausage. Around these parts this would be called "smothered" cabbage. It was mighty good with some red beans and rice, baked sweet potato, and cornbread. Mmmm!

Southwestern Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
Very Good. A few changes since I wanted to used what I had on hand. I just used one can of tomato sauce and 1 can of diced tomatoes as well as not having and salsa so I cooked the chicken in cumin, and mixed the italian herbs in with the sauce. I really liked this though. thanks for posting.
