Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
Very, very good! In my crockpot on low it only too about 10hours for a 6.5lb shoulder with bone-in. Also, I substituted regular coarse kosher salt for the sea salt. The family loved it and we'll be making this again soon!

Banana Nut Bread II

Pretty darn good, especially for how little work it took. Not 'The Best' I've ever had but still fairly wonderful.

French Toast I

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
Last time I tried to make french toast I screwed it up royally... I think I let the bread soak up too much mix and I ended up with egg toast. The way to do it is just to dunk the bread in the mix and put it in the pan. After about 8 years and ready to try again this recipe was easy, tasty and a definite do again... and again... and again. It's my husband's favorite breakfast. I wish I'd tried again 8 years ago! It's super easy!

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Wonderful! This was very easy to make and tastes fantastic. I took this to a potluck and got numerous requests for the recipe. I doubled the original recipe and made it in a 9x13. There was not a bite left at the potluck!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Oh my!!!!!!! This cookie is amazing, and I don't even like ginger snaps! I made these for a potluck at school, and everyone loved them. I loved them so much that I made them again, two days later, because I was craving them again. I also substituted orange juice for the water, as suggested by other reviewers. This is the perfect fall/winter/holiday cookie, and they look PERFECT!

Tasty Bake Chicken

Used boneless, skinless, and it came out great. Used leftovers for Nachos. I am needing seriously uncomplicated recipes and this fits the bill and tastes good, too.

Honey Orange Basil Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
Great flavor! I sub'd orange concentrate for the juice and zest & fresh basil instead of dried but still great! Very moist. Favorable reviews from the whole family - We'll be having this again soon!

Deidra's Hot Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I would have to say that I have never had baked hotwings before and liked the idea of less calories and fat (since that is why we do not have hotwings more often!) BUT, these were pale, in flavor and consistency, almost like they were boiled or something. I liked the marinadine idea so when I tried to make them the second time I put them in a bag with cajun seasoning and garlic spices, and let them sit there sealed over night. I baked them at the higher temp like other reviews said, to get the crisp finish. Then I shook half in hot sauce and the other half in a hot sauce/BBQ mixture and served with bleu cheese. THAT was yummy! And not fried! My son and husband who always want wings are so happy that they can have them now! Thanks for the recipe!

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
Made this as written. Everyone raved. For christmas I am going to use the mint Oreos instead and drizzle some white chocolate (tinted green and red) on top. Just a helpfull hint. Melt the chocolate in the microwave per the instructions on the baker's chocolate box. It made my life much easier.

Won Ton Wrapper Appetizers

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I made this for a party I gave. I followed the recipe pretty much verbatim just changed some techniques. I used italian sausage, and fresh ranch dressing used a little less per another recomendation (about 3/4 cup). Cooked the sausage first (since I had them one time before at another party and the bottoms were greasy). Everyone at my party raved and wanted the recipe. Next time I will play with the cheeses a bit and see what other combos tastes good.

Peanut Butter Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
Made today - I really liked it but the boyfriend said it didn't taste peanut-buttery enough for him. Definitely doesn't scream peanuts but still very good. I used crunchy peanut butter and enjoyed the "surprise" each time I got one of the nut pieces in a bite.
