About me:
Mom of 2, wife to best husband ever; avid reader, music lover, jewelry maker; addicted to sudoku, thrift stores and garage sales; misses the beach and wake boarding; native californian. I've been cooking and baking for as long as I can remember. I really enjoy cooking, but EVERYTHING gets tiresome when you have to do it day after day, especially if you're on a budget! That's why I love this website. I get tired of my same old recipes, so it's great to come here and see what real people are cooking. Cookbooks can be so austere and impractical for a real family on a budget.

Banana Cranberry Muffins

This was a yummy way to use up some leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving. I actually think these muffins tasted better cold. Next time I might put in some more nuts :) A definate keeper :)

Sweet Potato Fluff

Reviewed on Nov. 26, 2008 by JENWEE99
6 Stars....very yummy. Better than marshmellows. There is a lot of sugar....I might use less next time. I steamed my sweet potatos before I mashed them... I will make this again and again!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed on Nov. 24, 2008 by Rachel L. S.
This was wonderful and very quick. This is a nice soup to whip up on a cold day. I followed others suggestions and added some carrot, celery, onion, and garlic. Just remember to stir it really well before you spoon it into your bowl because the rice sinks to the bottom. We had hardly any rice with our first couple of bowls, then all rice with our last bowls.
