Healthy Snacks: Pumpkin Seeds

Hey punkin, save those seeds--they're the best part!

With a deliciously nutty flavor, roasted pumpkin seeds are a tasty--and healthy--snack that will leave greasy chips as only a faint memory in your kids’ minds.


Two Birds with One Pumpkin

Between fall baking and Halloween pumpkin-carving, you're sure to find yourself elbow-deep in pumpkins this season. While you're there, be sure to set the seeds aside so you can whip up a healthy snack for the shorter members of your household. You might even be able to persuade the little ones to lend a hand.


Rinse Cycle

Prepping the pumpkin seeds:

  • Separate the seeds from the stringy pumpkin insides.
  • Put seeds in a bowl or colander and rinse under a faucet to remove any remaining pumpkin.
  • Lay seeds out on paper towels to dry.
