Aunt Caroline's Christmas Pudding

Steamed pudding is made with fruits and spices before being steamed in canning jars. The sealed jars can be aged until serving time at the holidays. This is my Aunt Caroline's classic Christmas Pudding recipe that is a wonderful Christmas tradition. Excellent served with sauce and ice cream!

Grandma Leach's Fruitcake

My grandmother and mother made these cakes for years. They are moist but don't contain eggs. Applesauce is the secret ingredient. I sold these at bake sales for years and we had many customers who returned every year just to get one.

This cake is moist but not heavy. Dates and almonds give a nice sweet flavor and texture to this delicious cake. Other alcohol can be substituted for whisky if you prefer. Serve warm with a thick cream.
